Just finished watching the latest episode of Heroes, “A Clear and Present Danger.” This begins “Volume 4” and the second half of Season 3, as well as the attempt by the Heroes team to salvage the show after two rather disappointing volumes. It’s hard to believe that after everything he’s been through, Nathan Petrelli would come up with this idea of rounding up “people with abilities,” but for now I’ll give them that. It also seems unlikely that Noah “Horned-Rimmed Glasses” Bennet would align himself with yet another paramilitary organization—I’ll give them that too.
There’s a massive continuity error when the African prophet guy is talking to Matt Parkman—watch his staff. He’s always very clearly holding the staff horizontally over his shoulders, but in the closeup shots he’s holding it like a walking stick. Ouch.
I was also glad to get rid of the visions of the future. I understand that that’s something that’s driven the show for a while now, but it’s starting to get really old. I’m going to have a very hard time getting into a storyline where Matt draws a bunch of pictures and the rest of the cast runs around trying to figure out what they mean, or stop the big disaster. We’ll see how things shape up over the next few weeks.
