It seems that one of the only solid solutions for ensuring that the Google Fonts display properly is, much to my friends‘ delight, to “get a Mac.” Will Moyer has one of the only viable fixes, a 0.0000000001-degree rotation that fixes the issue in Webkit browsers like Chrome. For Firefox, we have to wait for version 4: Will demonstrates that the current beta supports DirectWrite, which fixes the problem. Apparently IE9 will support DirectWrite as well, which means fixes for this for all major browser types are around the corner. In the meantime, I guess we just grin and bear it. Or use Macs.

Woo! Go Macs. Yet another thing they’re good at. 😛
Quiet, you!
