Three years ago today Rachel and I got married, and we’re even more in love than ever. Go us! I haven’t gotten Rachel a present yet, but year three makes this our leather anniversary, which may give me a few ideas…
We’re celebrating in a manner of sorts by going with our church, Re:Live, to Joplin, Missouri to help people salvage stuff from the tornado wreckage. The opportunity just came up this past Friday and we decided to jump on it. Fittingly enough Rachel and I first met on a mission trip ten years ago.
Most of today has been spent driving east. We passed by the fires in Arizona—the smoke was blotting out the sun in New Mexico, and you can still smell it here in Albuquerque.
Tomorrow we have another day of driving, or our last rest before three days of hard labor. Hopefully we’ll be able to make a small bit of difference.

Happy Anniversary sir and madam! I almost can’t believe it’s been three years, but then I think about where I was three years ago and where I am today and it seems like it’s been even longer.
Yeah I suppose it depends on perspective. When I think about being married for three years it seems to have gone by quite quickly, but like you when I think of all that has happened in the past three years it’s more like, “Only three?”
