In the interest of sparing you as much of the going-to-med-school angst as possible, I’ll try and keep this brief. “The Big Move” is finally, actually happening, which translates to me spending days saying goodbye to people, assembling cardboard boxes, and “scanning” documents with my digital camera to email.
I’m earnestly attempting to reduce the amount of stuff I’m keeping around, a goal made more difficult by my desire to keep things “just in case.” We’ve been taking things to Goodwill and the dumpster literally by the carload, and it still looks and appears as if nothing has been accomplished. At some point all of my electronic equipment will come down and I’ll fall off the grid, only to reemerge in Southern California.
We’ve tried to see as many people as we could but of course there are a lot of folks for which it just didn’t work out. Leaving so many awesome friends behind makes the internet even more valuable to me than it already is. Communication for the win, right?
I’m going to miss Maryland.

I’m going to miss you too! Life really sucks sometimes, you know?
There’s still time to hang out yet!
Welcome to California. The weather in inland SoCal is NOT FUN right now…but still better than whatever humid horror that DC currently offers.
Intense heat beats humidity any day.
