Paul, Go Die

Paul is one of those few people who can disappear without a trace. He’s also one of those guys whose name is invoked with every question I ask about my hiring with CompUSA.

As many of you know, I got the hire confirmation with this store quite some time ago, yet for some reason I still have not been “officially” hired, i.e. store policies, etc. reviewed, issued a time card and badge, all that stuff. I can’t take the responsibility for this one, because I’ve asked about it multiple times every day I’ve been in that place. Today was no exception.

I went right up to the good fellow the moment I arrived at CompUSA today, around 10:15. He looked annoyed and told one of the other managers to train me and things while he got the forms ready. Which I did, for the next several hours. I have to say, it was enjoyable; I’m liking the work environment there so far.

I had to leave at 2:00. At 2:45, I was still waiting for Paul to get to me. Finally, I got somebody to go into the forbidden chambers on my behalf, only to hear that he “had something very important that he was working on and he would get with me later.” I’m sorry. That jackass has had over three weeks to get his act together.

Upset as I was, I got home and discovered that my mom and brother had gone to see the Polar Express without me. I had been wanting to take Mark to see that movie since I heard it was coming out. Oh, and the movie started at 2:40. So if it hadn’t been for Paul, I could have met them. Provided my cell phone had been working, which it wasn’t, because it’s dead.

So I waited for 45 minutes, missed taking my little brother to a movie that I had been hoping to do for weeks, and still haven’t gotten my forms processed at CompUSA.

Hooray.

I ranted to Rachel, which had to be hard to listen to. I love her so much.

I’m not even angry anymore. It just makes me sad.
