All of the times I’ve been to LA in the past, I’ve left the airport for somewhere else and hardly looked back. Since we moved here we’ve been meaning to go over there and explore a bit, but it took Kyle coming to visit us from Maryland to make that happen. We managed to hit a lot of the tourist-y stuff and find a bunch of places we’d like to return to.
In addition to touring the Kodak Theater and a few famous houses, we made a quick run through the wax museum. The Go Card turned out to be a decent deal (we saved a bit of money on the various attractions), and apparently they have them for most major cities. Who knew? We finally reached the spiritual end of our Route 66 journey across the country, and I am forced to admit to my California friends that Santa Monica is quite lovely.
Other interesting things: There were several Kraft mac and cheese advertisement statues placed in various spots around the city, we saw a gorgeous Bugatti, and the sun set while we were on Sunset Boulevard.
