Not a Bad Day at All

Today was one of those days that makes me feel pretty good by the end of it. This was largely because my Spanish exam, which had been looming grotesquely overhead for the past week, was suddenly canceled a mere hour beforehand. I got to spend the reclaimed time with some excellent people before heading in to work, where it looks like the techniques I have been modifying have finally found a semi-sweet spot akin to the Nestle chips in the yellow bag. The real moment of truth, however, will come this Sunday when I run a Western on the collected tissue to see if our procedures have left them viable, or if proteases have devoured the tertiary and quaternary structures leaving only mere husks of amino acids linked by disulfide bonds.

I also got grades back from the other two exams I had this week, which has got to be some kind of speed record for the professors. While I didn’t do as well as I had hoped, I did better than I thought, so the end result was more or less pleasing.

Now to begin to tackle the many tasks I have assigned myself that should be completed over the weekend…
