We got in to the place we’ll be calling home base for the next few nights about an hour ago. I found a spot next to one of the working air conditioners, which rocks for me. Rachel decided to cast her lot with the other ladies in our party but it remains to be seen if she gets too warm and joins me.
There was a bit of an incident with one of our vehicles where we discovered it was nearly out of both oil and coolant.
Andy and I valiantly attempted to resurrect our abysmal Spanish so we could talk to Robert and Cesar. The four of us also tried to start teaching Rachel Spanish—so far she’s picked up just enough to know when we’re teasing her. We also played van-wide games of Go Fish, and texted members of the other vehicle to goad them into driving faster.
As it turns out, one of the people with us, Andrea, is from Maryland, proving once again that it’s a small, small SDA world.

Now to try and get some sleep; we have six hours before we have to leave here for the work site.
