And a Merry Christmas

It’s Christmas Eve folks. It sure seems like the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas gets shorter every year. How come September through November seems to take such a long time, and then Thanksgiving comes around and it’s already Christmas? At least this year I was a little more prepared, despite my wrapping of presents yesterday.

Here’s something to think about: Time really does go by faster the older you get. When you’re two years old, a year is half of your entire life. By the time you’re seventeen, it’s only a seventeenth. So a year’s gone from 50 percent to only about six percent of your life. Okay, so time isn’t going faster, it’s your perception of time that does. Still…

I think this Christmas is actually going to be better than the past several, as my family will be joining Rachel’s for at least part of the day. I love Rachel. The annual extended family “gathering” I’ve been compelled to attend in years past will be cut short for once. Of course, my little brother Mark likes to complain, but I’m sure he’ll have a great time despite himself (he’s reading over my shoulder and growling).

Anybody want a Christmas cookie?
